Payment Facilities - Foreigners in India In response to an enquiry whether foreign nationals, including persons of Indian origin, while in India are required to pay the charges towards booking of airline/train tickets, hotels, hospitals, etc., in foreign currency, the Reserve Bank has clarified that under the extant Foreign Exchange Regulations, any foreign national in India is free to pay either in rupees or in equivalent foreign exchange for such purposes.
